Updates and Such
So OB/Gyn came and the gratefully left. I was surprised at how much I disliked the rotation, especially since it was one of my incoming choices as a fresh faced, bushy tailed newly accepted medical student. Gladly that rotation is finished and I can move one week closer to M4 year. Starting peds on a light note (nursery) is giving me a false impression of pediatric life. If you told me peds was like nursery, I may just do peds. I LOVE it. I like the babies. Makes me want one. When I turned 25 the internal biological clock lit up, and now it's heavily ticking away. I swear if you listen carefully you can hear it: tick, tock, TICK, TOCK, TICK, TOCK, TICK, TICK, TICK, TOCK, TIIIIIIIIICK!
I'm sure I'll receive a rude awakening come wards. Otherwise, I'm back in the swing-ish of gymming and my garden (for those of you who didn't know I had one of those) is growing well. Unfortunately I'm 0/2 on sprouting my own cherry tomatoes. But I did successfully grow some zucchini from seeds all by myself! woohoo! I also have some bell peppers, squash, basil, and a collective mix of sweet banana pepper, eggplant, ,and random assorted flowers. I'm pretty pumped about it. I've included some pics of all the awesome that's going on in the back yard. Now if this pollen would just stop I'd be good to go.
Oh, has anyone finished up their step2CS stuff? because I need to book a hotel room. I am sad my friend that lives in Houston will be in Alabama (of all places!) when I'm taking my CS. I just hope for the pass because I do not want to do that crap again. I'll hopefully do well on our school-simulated exam so I can breathe a bit easier. Also, CK is coming fast and hard and I need to start really getting on that! Probably doesn't help that I've started reading House of God this week. It hasn't quite picked up the pace yet, or maybe I've been artificially making this book out to be more awesome than it actually is. More critiques on that later.
Other than that I will be spending about one full, glorious week at my fellow PathPerson's house sitting with his dogs. Omg I LOVE his dogs. I seriously need some type of visiting arrangement because I kinda go through withdrawl when I don't get to see them. Haha. Okay, ok, I really do like PathPerson as well and always have fun hanging out or talking with him. I'm actually going to be really sad if we don't end up doing path at the same program. Yeah, he's one of those friends that has grown on me, one of those people that thinking of them not being around gives me the sads inside.
So any future posts will be happening from his house. Hope everyone is adjusting well. Just going to give a shout out to HemeOnc Doc, I know you've finally reached your holy grail of 3rd year rotations! That smile this morning was PRICELESS!!!!
Ok, now for pictures:

Disbelief
Did I really just finish up my M2 year? Did I really take my last professor based test yesterday? Did I really pass all of my classes (pathology isn't in yet, but I don't think I did terribly bad on the test)? Do I seriously only have 4 boards and 1 STEP exam standing between me and basically being a doctor? I feel like I'm in some weird dreamy haze and will snap out of it any minute.
I'm very excited about the next 2 weeks. True, I have 4 boards, but those in general are never as bad to me. I just do a bunch of rapid review or BRS questions and I usually feel prepared. My calendar is actually pretty jam packed, with my first adventure on Wed Night. I'll be making some bean soup for me and a couple of friends. Then, the next night I have my friend's bachelorette/wedding shower thing. unfortunately I can't go out with them after the present/food party, because I have the behavioral health board that next morning. Then I think it's puppy party? I need to check the date on that so I don't miss it! I also need to figure out what I want to bring! Then, on April 29 I'll be out for one last hurrah before locking myself away for a full 4 weeks. I will have to study hardcore for STEP since I haven't completely started yet. But it will be ok, I'm sure the 4 weeks I've given myself will be more than plenty.
It's still really hard to believe that I'm almost completely done with my second year in med school. It's all just really flown by. Soon, it'll be time for step, I'll be on rotations, then I'll be figuring out what I want to do FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. wow. just...wow.
Alright, time to go make some good brunch for myself. I'm thinking something omelette like. maybe some potato hash browns? or some fruit. I haven't decided.
Hope everyone has a fabulous day!
