Stigmata of the Brain

5 more days of study time left before I take Step 2. I seriously think my brain quit this bitch about Monday. Now whenever I try to read something I start staring at the pages and thinking of birds. If I try to push past the images of birds, I get the vague feeling my brain is beginning to liquefy in my skull, then tries to make it's escape through my eyeballs. So now I'm just left sitting with a book open, staring out a window/toward the wall/creepily at people with just the sound of crickets echoing in my head.

Onto better topics, I GET TO PUPPY SIT AGAIN! Yes, Red and Blue (my two favorite dogs in the whole world! I'm going to be sad when 4th year is over and I won't be able to come see them) for a whole 24 hours! I'm so excited. I missed the nighttime snuggles. Then tomorrow I start plant sitting for my future Surgeon friend. That'll last a whole week just about. Then THURSDAY is step, Friday is rehearsal dinner and Sat wedding of a dear college friend of mine. Then Sunday I leave for some adventure. either Dallas to visit Dr. Pathologist, or going to Pittsburgh with another friend of mine to crash her family vacay. Either way I'm getting AWAY from Jackson for a bit. Details on my adventure to follow.

So I suppose now I'm off to go and play with my buddies! I'm so happy! then maybe some more review and then MOVIE tonight. So excited. Hope everyone is enjoying their "vacation". See you on the flip side of crazy.

Critiques and More

That right there completely describes my morning. Boo monday.

So today instead of trying to study, I spent about 2 hours playing with the dogs outside (I'm now known as "laser lady" and it is demanded of me to preform as such. Making it the 4,509 game of laser since Tuesday), and watching 1.5 movies. I'll give you a rundown:

I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell: really funny movie. I would totally recommend it. However, be wary of the company you keep, there are several illicit sex scenes and while watching with the opposite gender it may elicit some "oh crap" sentiments after all is said and done. It does a good job at the gross factor at the end, and as always cheesy make up lines that show all the characters making up in the end. I would almost rate it as a Hangover wannabe, but seeing how the book came out before then I'll just say it's comparable but not close. I'd give it a 4/5 on comedy for it's laugh out loud nature (we all know I love a bring-the-irony-in-the-spotlight) and a 3/5 on content. It's great if you just want to kill a few brain cells and have a good laugh.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: I was very disappointed in this movie. As a general fan of the "Ice Age" makers, this failed to keep my attention. I was editing my facebook profile in record time. Lack of action packed content and come one-don't lie we all just watch the movie for the spastic squirrel! In about all of 30 min I didn't see the sucker once. The mammoths or something were having kids and building playgrounds. Snore. I give it a 1/5 because the animation was fair if you put the thing on mute (thus making it my 1/2 of a movie since I didn't make it all the way through)

On to Books:
As I mentioned, I'm reading The House of God by Samuel Shem. At first it was off to a slow start, but it has begun to pick up the pace. I have found myself laughing out loud at certain parts, especially the ever so true matter of fact way the author highlights commonplace in some medical practice. There is some strong sexual undertones, especially when the main character speaks of this nurse, but I'll leave the audience out there to read that for themselves. About 10 chapters in, this book is receiving 2/5 just based on the facts that 1. I haven't finished it 2. Slow start 3. preoccupation with boobs. I am looking forward to finishing the book, however.

Another glorious day, not doing much. I'm not hating peds clinic. Doesn't make me want to slit my wrists or pop out my eyeballs like medicine clinic did. I love the kids. Hopefully I won't change my mind from Pathology. I think it's a long shot, but you never know. Those kids are completely precious. Even when they are screaming bloody murder because you have the audacity to listen to their chest with your foreign evil shiny torture device (commonly known as: stethoscope).

I Need a New Camera

Ok, so this is going to be mainly a picture post. I've been at my friend's for almost a week with his precious dogs. Granted, we did have one trying night but I think after that they realized I sleep at night and stay awake during the day. period. haha. I'm really enjoying them and I'm going to be so sad when I have to go back home. I'm really going to miss them.

I'm currently sitting at the house because my day of go to the parent's and do laundry was shot. Why? Because the pipe gave in and we can't have any outflow water. Why? Because it backs up in either the back yard or in the house. So no laundry, no flushing, no sinks. Until it's fixed. I just hope it gets fixed soon (they should have it done by later this afternoon) so it's actually really fortunate I'm away dog/house sitting.

Okay, so everyone, meet the most awesome dogs on the planet:

First, we'll showcase Blue, the female

a little blurry, but she's the sweetest thing. She's a snuggle muffin and usually sleeps with me at night. However, she was the instigator of the 3 am "let's go play outside when you have to wake up at 5 am!"

you can tell that she's just about as big as I am in this picture.

Moving on to Red, a mutt of sorts

He's also massive and the most laid back dog I've ever met.

.

My buddy :)

All together now. How cute are they? Even though they hog the couch. Sharing during naps isn't in their vocabulary (I tried haha).

The pics are a big blurry but I'm blaming it on the 3 megapixel camera I still own. Gotta get a new one, it takes crappy pictures now. Half of the ones I take are all blurred and had to be deleted.

I'm going to be so sad when I have to go home :(

Hope everyone's weekend is going well!
